We invite young musicians from around the world to fulfill their music dreams, express the best of themselves, and share their talents with the public.

Introduction to Apex Competition

Fulfill Your Music Dream, Express the best of yourself.

Apex International Music Competition (AIMC) is organized by Pioneer Arts and Humanities Association, a Non-profit Organization to promote youth arts, music and humanities events in the United States. AIMC is also co-organized by Global Musicians and Arts Association and Vera's Music School. Our goal is to provide an international music platform for all nationalities who love music and want to demonstrate their talents to the public.

Since it was founded in 2019, Pioneer Arts and Humanities Association and Global Musicians and Arts Associations have successfully hosted Six competitions. AIMC is regarded by many parents and teachers as one of the most valuable music competitions in Tri-state areas. Close to 3,500 young musicians have attended our previous competitions in three branches including North America, China, and Europe. Over 1,500 winners have performed in our winners’ concerts in Merkin Concert Hall and Carnegie Hall. Apex Competition winners have been recognized by many US Top 20 colleges as one of the notable awards for admission considerations.

We are proud of our achievements and remain committed to creating additional performance, recognition, and educational opportunities for young musicians.

4. Audition Results and Judging Criteria

Both the Live Audition and YouTube recordings will be evaluated by the Apex Judge Committee, which includes the college professors, music teachers or local famous musicians. Judges will score each contestant’s audition performance based on the following categories:

  • For Instrument and Voice: Technical, Performance and Music Interpretation

  • For Composition: Music Content, Creativity and Knowledge of Instrument

Each Category is worth 10 points and the highest score for each contestant is 30 points. The award ranking will be determined based on the audition scores with consideration of the contestant’s age group. If there are two judges at your audition location, the higher score of the two will be used to determine the rankings. The following awards will be determined by the judge committee and will be marked on the contestant’s evaluation form:

  • Grand Award

  • First Place Plus

  • First Place

  • Second Place

  • Third Place

  1. Cash Prizes for Top Winners.

In addition to Award Certificates, Apex Competitions provide a total of $10,000 Cash Prizes to more than 50 winners (including groups) each year.

Ranking

  • Cash prize ranking is determined based on the contestant's average scores in the audition with the consideration of the contestant's age.

General Eligibility

  • A winner must physically attend the winner's concert to receive the cash prizes. A winner who does not attend the winners' concert (for any reasons) is not eligible to receive the cash prizes.

  • Cash prizes are earned based on achievement and are not automatically awarded simply because a prize category exists. A prize will not be awarded if no contestant meets the eligibility requirements for that prize. In such cases, the prize will remain vacant, and the cash award will not be automatically transferred to another contestant or lower award category.

Ties

In the event of a tie, the Competition Committee will review the applicable scores and competition criteria and will make the final determination regarding ranking and prize allocation.

Number of Awards

The number of winners listed for each category represents the anticipated number of awards. The Competition Committee reserves the right to adjust the number of recipients based on audition results.

Final Authority

All decisions regarding award eligibility, ranking, prize allocation, and special awards are subject to the final approval of the APEX International Music Competition Committee.
